Karma Mobility has a couple of lightweight wheelchairs within their product range. Such as the Ergo Lite 2 weighing in at approx. 8.6kg. Most are available as transit wheelchairs or self-propelled wheelchairs.

Can you get a prescription for a Karma Mobility wheelchair?

It is possible to have a Karma Mobility wheelchair on prescription and from the NHS or healthcare provider. You will be assessed first on your ability to walk and move.

How do I choose a good wheelchair?

A good wheelchair is one that suits your needs. It is always best to be assessed where possible for one. Typical questions or areas to look at are:

• Weight of the user
• Seat width
• Is the user being pushed so a transit wheelchair would be needed or do they want to move themselves so would need a self-propelled wheelchair?
• Are you looking for a wheelchair that is lightweight, if so maybe an aluminium frame? So maybe the Karma Ergo Lite?

There are obviously other questions to ask, however it boils down to if the wheelchair is comfortable and supports the user.
